Default US145 Batteries

Picking up 6 new US145's this afternoon to replace the mix matched batts that came in my cart when I bought it used a few months ago. Can't wait to have some fun once I get them broken in! I'll update later. I'm also going to a heavy 1ga welding cable at the same time.

Next up is new controller!!!

Ditto on the congrats.

Be aware that US Battery deep-cycle batteries need to be taken to a higher On-Charge voltage to fully charge them.

Attached are USB's charging instructions and a Technical Service Bulletin about undercharging.

What charger are you using?

The Power Wise that came with it. Is that okay?

Initial voltage is 37.86 and I'm on charge now.

The Powerwise, Powerwise+, Powerwise II and Powerwise QE chargers shut off in the 44V to 46V range and you need something in the 46-47 volt range or one that uses dV/dT (Change in voltage over change in time)

Several chargers have user selectable charge profiles.
The DPI Accusense charger has settings for US Battery, Trojan, Exide, and Fullriver (AGM) batteries and uses dV/dT, plus goes into float charge after the regular charge cycle finishes.
http://www.cartsunlimited.net/48v_Battery_Charger.html

The initial charge will that quite a while, possible more than the 16 hour max of the back-up timer, so you may have to re-initiate the charge cycle.

Measure the On-Charge voltage just before the charger shuts off to determine what it is reaching.

Will do! And if I can't get up to the 46-47v then it looks like I'll have a Powerwise for sale and will be getting a new charger! Lol

The pack started at 37.86v and it's been on charge for about 6.5 ours now. The charger is down to 4 amps and the pack is at 44.71v. I'm hoping the Power Wise does the trick with these US Batteries!

We'll see where it's at in the morning. I'm sure it'll shut off sometime through the night, so I might not know what it fully gets the pack to on this charge (the first one) before shutting off.

Almost at the 16 hour mark on the charger. It's showing 1.5amps now and the pack is at 45.44v. Hopefully after a couple charge cycles ill get it to the recommended 46-47v or I'll be getting a new charger!
