Aux Battery for Winch in Bagwell

I have a marine plastic box and a marine battery to set inside it. I'd like to install in the bag well, but am unsure of best way to mount box so it is level and sturdy. I intend to strap it down vertically, and again horizontally around the seat kit brackets. How do ya'll level out the bag well? What kind of brackets or wedges are you using for under the battery box?

plywood (painted)
attached with carriage bolts , deck screws to attach box, no straps needed

I was looking at mine just tonight , I was thinking either 1 thick piece with a grove cut in it or 2 separate pieces on each side of the hump.....or just grind the **** thing flat ....

Don't grind, the body curves up underneath there and is uniform thickness instead of being flat on the bottom and you'll just grind down to a point where you'll have a crack in the bagwell. I'd use a grooved piece of plywood.

agree , I wasn't really going that route , but if you did grind it flat then carriage bolt a good piece if plywood in there it would probably be stronger...... but a grooved piece would be best....probably have to use 3/4 to have enough room to groove though.....

1x12 pine with a groove cut for center of bagwell cut to fit. Painted flat black. Works great. The setup is for 2 6 volts.

I like the idea of a grooved board. Just a quick run down the center with a router bit, right? Think it will be secure enough with 4 - 3" 1/4 or 5/16 bolts with loc nuts and large washers? Thank you for all the pictures! Btw - I mounted my winch on the allsports brush guard (with hitch receiver) by drilling holes where it attaches to the frame. Kept it under the cowl this way. Much like one of the photos here. Also rewired winch with a 13' set of 8-guage wire that was once a cheap set of jumper cables to easily run under cart back to bag well.
