Re: Holy Cow Batman !!
I think you have to compare apples to apples, the GE, Bandit & your EMP are all specifically designed. The big story is time, how long will it last and not give you issues, is it durable over the years and that said the end user and the way they drive and use their cart can make a big difference on how well a motor will last. So from what I'm hearing your EMP is a top quality motor, no doubt the GE and PQ are also top quality motors as time has been proven over and over again. To me Service is a big thing, you develop a relationship with this guy and he helps you as much as he did then that is very valuable IMO.

Re: Holy Cow Batman !!
I picked the heaviest duty motor that met my specs for that reason. I even gave up some more torque and speed the other options had for heavy electrical parts. The cart is faster than she wanted, but if she has a full load she has plenty of reserve. With the current setup she no longer has to drive constantly with the go pedal on the floor.
Heres to a long lasting motor. M |

Re: Holy Cow Batman !!
93YCC - I followed your build of the '93. Very nice and thanks for the great documentation. I was also trying to document my series build. I was hoping it would help others in future builds. IMHO folks should consider just adding a PQ motor to a good running CC. It is a great bang for the buck ($310). I spent $400 on the custom motor after core return. Which sounds good but considering the new HD components it a more expensive way to go. I guess I am fortunate that it is not about money only about having fun and learning about cart mods.

I've got all the HD components installed, but I'm saving up money now so someday when the batteries on my cart croak I can upgrade to an alltrax 500 amp controller and a 48 volt battery pack, plus a DPI charger. That should give me the results I want out of the EMP motor that I have on it. I do have to say it's a beefy motor, built much heavier than the stock one I took off. |
