serious and dangerous cart problem
I bought a cart that looks like a 32 ford. I have been having problems with it won't move stopped running etc... Found some lose wiring nothing to bad! Today car was running good parked it behind a friends truck. Got into move it turned switch on cart launched forward into the truck even moving the truck forward. Turned key off and heard a loud boom sounded like a backfire. I was sure the cart was dead put it in reverse turned the key on and it shot backwards. I opened the back seat expecting to see flames only a light smell of hot transformed. The nearest I can tell the cart is a club car with an in closed controller. It also has three solenoids. I don't wiring diagram or numbers on parts.... Can anybody help me out?

Re: serious and dangerous cart problem
Can you post a picture of said cart, specifically some of the wiring, the controller for determining drive system style and a shot of the overall cart so we can tell what sort of cart base (CC, EZ, etc...) we're dealing with and narrow a year for you?

Re: serious and dangerous cart problem
That looks Club Car-ish, but the electronics are unlike any I've ever seen. (that doesn't mean much haha) Rear end definitely not CC, my first thought goes to Emerald, a Chinese copy of a CC DS. Above the gas pedal and to the middle or right slightly, under the dash, is there a VIN tag? That's where they are on the DS models.
Cool looking body on the cart, BTW |

Re: serious and dangerous cart problem
No Vin number.
Thinking about getting rid of the electronics and putting a cc controller etc...hopefully I won't have to buy a new motor. What do you think? Any ideas out there? |

Re: serious and dangerous cart problem
Wow, no wonder the local golf cart shop was so confused with it. All they could do was tell me them had never seen such a messed up cart, of course they managed to charge me $300 for their expert option..
Thanks for all the help. Am sure we will be talking more. |
