No Spark
I have a 1990 DS with the flathead. I bought it with a blown engine. Rebuilt another engine and now it has no spark. How can I test to see what is wrong. I disconnected the white/black coil wire , no spark. I don't want to buy a coil if that's not the problem.

If your coil has the three wire plug which some did some didnt 91. Unplug it and check OHM from the plug coming from the ENGINE. Brown to red should read around 370 ohms. check white to engine ground should read around 60 ohms. If that checks out buy a coil. There is no way to test the coil to see if it is bad that I know of. the above test will verify your magneto is good on the flywheel. Its been a while since I have done this test but im 90 percent sure this is right.

can anyone help me? i have a 90 club car ds and only have spark when the kill switch is unplugged. i replaced and tried everything. please help
