A Bandit motor on a series car is not the same as a Bandit motor on a Sepex/Regen car such as a Precedent. A Bandit upgrade is a rebuilt factory motor. Your series motor is the GE motor with the small brushes. Even after the rebuild, it still has tiny brushes. 400 amps of power is not going to be a good long term setup for that motor without having motor failure. The Admiral MOT-A1 motor would be a much more reliable motor for a high amp application. Nothing against Plum Quick. They do phenomenal work. But the motor is only as good as the brushes that are in it.

Hmmm. I’ve read about guys with upgraded controllers on stock motors for years. You think I should stick with my stock controller?

Yep. People have been doing it for years, not knowing any better. They're all happy once they make the move and upgrade their carts. But a few months later they don't have the same enthusiasm when they burn up. You're not gonna find that information all over the internet. Nobody boasts and brags about their embarasment and regrets like they do when they have nice fancy new toys. With that being said, not all stock motors are the same. The GE motors from the Club Car 48 volt series cars and the GE motors in the Regen 1/2 and early IQ cars cannot handle power upgrades like some of the other motors can because of the tiny brushes. The brushes in the ADC motors are twice the size. Same can be said of the early 36 volt motors from the 80s and early 90s. I haven't had Plum Quick build a Bandit motor for me in quite some time, but I've had numerous customers tell me that Plum Quick has denied doing any Bandit IQ motors for them when provided a GE core.
