Default Charger issues

Hi I have an 06 club car and charger recently when I plug in the charger the needle dives down below 0 and bounces all the way against the wall or side of the gauge is this a battery issue or something in the charger?

That's a Powerdrive 2 charger.
More than likely you need a new rectifier. When the rectifier fails it can allow AC current to pass to the battery pack which makes the ammeter go crazy and the breaker will trip almost instantly.

You will want to replace the circuit breaker as well. Once that has tripped a couple of times it weakens the breaker and it can continue to trip even after the charger is fixed.
Call David (Revolution) and talk to him about what's going on and he can get you the right parts to get you fixed up.
