Default What power upgrade for my 02 TXT 36v

Long story short bought a used 6 passenger TXT with a 36v setup. First thing I did was replace the 6V batteries with New Trojan 6v batteries hoping this would make the cart "good enough" for me.. shocking its not so I ordered a 7" long arm and 24" tire/wheel combo and now I'm thinking about power.. The batteries have gone through only a handful of charge cycles so I was thinking about adding 2 more and converting to 48v. I would have to put one battery under the drivers seat as I cant fit 2 more in the battery area. Does this create any issues besides added weight? (both adding new to ones that are pretty new as well as having to run longer wire for one of the batteries).

Assuming that is all good.. do I go for a Plum 48v motor setup or say screw it and go AC? There is not a huge price difference and it appears the AC setup will out perform the DC setup in all aspects? I am a HP guy.. my surf boat has a 575hp supercharged motor, I have a built diesel I like power :) The cart will be used for cruising around our summer community (flat ground) but I don't want to be doing 14mph lol

Thanks for any guides and other recommendations you might have! Brad

You can get the extra 2 batteries under the seat if you slide the controller mount towards the rear fender.. You will definitely need a new controller, solenoid and charger

Thumbs up Re: What power upgrade for my 02 TXT 36v

If it's series the F/R handle is at your leg. If it's a PDS it's on the dash.

If it where me spend the money on a AC 48 volt system. Way more power and will run close to 30 MPH. My 04 PDS does 38 with me and I can pull the front 23" tires off the ground when I take off if I want to.

EZ-GO TXT - Navitas - 48V 5KW AC 600A DC to AC Conversion Kit. My 04 cart.

Does it have the run/tow switch on the controller box? Does it have the writting on it also. It's probably a PDS like mine.
