Does the engine actually run, or are you referring to driving in fwd and rev? We need to know if this is an engine or drive line problem.
If you were to remove the drive belt, does the engine wind up (run) in both directions?

Yes, the engine actually runs. The cart will drive in reverse good with no problems. In forward the cart will drive but the engine revs really high before it will but with little power at all.

You have a clutch problem. If the engine is reving really high, then it sounds like your driven (not drive) clutch is not operating correctly. Potentially it could be your rear end, but lets look at some things first.

but the engine revs really high before it will but with little power

What does this mean? Can you be more specific?

The engine revs really high (high rpms) before it takes off in forward. It kinda of jerks then takes off, but in reverse it starts taking off on low rpms.
LIke I said before, reverse is normal, plenty of power and takes off like it should. But in forward, the engine revs pretty high then it takes off but not smooth at all and with no power. Kinda hard to explain I guess.
Does that help explain it better?

It sure sounds like a clutch problem. Look at the clutch buttons for both fwd and rev and see if there is a difference. Also check your belt for uneven wear.

While I'm not fully convinced its a belt problem, this is probably the easiest and cheapest thing to replace at this point. Also, how did the little buttons on the clutch look? I have a feeling they are worn in the fwd direction vs the rev direction. If you put the cart up on stands in the rear and took the seat off. What does your drive clutch do in fwd and rev direction? What does the driven clutch do? This will tell you if the belt is slipping, the clutches are engaging correctly etc..
