Default Guage Install ????????????????

I bought this off eBay as an inexpensive way to keep track of the charge and I guess this is another case of you get what you pay for. There were no instructions on how to hook it up.

When you turn your key on at the key switch, use your volt meter to read your 36v, make a jumper from that to one post on the guage. Then run a wire from the negative of your battery pack to the other post. This will allow you to turn it off when not in use.

I ran a jumber from the blue wire (on) from the switch to the guage post and then from the other guage post to a neg terminal on one of the outside batteries and got no movement from the guage with the switch on or off. When I changed to a neg terminal on one of the inside batteries it moved to the green portion of the guage, whether the key is on or off.

The way you have it wired will keep it on the whole time, if you wire it inline with key switch on the dash it will turn off then the key is off.
