Default CC Charger question

My cart is tricked out for the woods. I use it in hunting season since a bad case of pnuemonia screwed up my ticker. Had it 3 years and it was time for batteries. I just installed 6 brand new DEKA 8 volt batteries ($$OUCH$$) but the cart now runs great. buzzed around the yard a couple times and came in and plugged in the charger. It isn't coming on and it always used to start charging no matter how little I used the cart before. The advise I've always heard is charge after every use no matter how short. I bought it used a few years ago with 3 year old trojans on board at the time. Never had fresh batteries before. Is it simply because the brand new batteries don't need charged? Don't really have a place to run it much right here. It goes with me on hunting trips and don't want to learn that my charger or OBC is kaput 700 miles from home when I should be hunting.

It's likely you left the charger wire disconnected. There should be 2 red wires connected on the main + terminal.... If you want to check with a test meter you can check at the charge receptacle to see if you have 48v there. NEW batteries need charging!

I wasn't certain but I also thought that new batteries still needed a charge.

Thanks for the tip Scottyb! You nailed it!

I had missed it before because there are also extra wires there from a previous owner who had wired a winch and lights off of one 8v battery. The winch was anemic at 8 volts so I had redone the winch and lights directly to a seperate 12volt deep cycle a while ago and regrettably didn't clear out the extraneous unused wires! Found that red wire. It was in the jumbled, disconnected mess from the previous owner. The charger is now working properly and the jumbled mess has been cleared out.
