Re: CarryAll Problems
Thanks for the early reply, Steve. Looks like you have insomnia too.
Yeah, I know 48v isn't a full charge, but was hoping to get at least something out of the car, movement-wise. Park manager said he's not going to let me spend any money on batteries til I can prove that I can get it to work at all (hmmm... kinda like some of my wife's ultimatums). |

Re: CarryAll Problems SOLVED!
IT'S ALIVE!!!
Not to brag too much on myself (now that the hunt is over), but the very first thing I thought when they gave the car to me to fix is "... Hey, the solenoid doesn't click, what if that's the problem?". Naturally, I dismissed that as too easy-peasy, and spend the next several days chasing down esoteric possibilities like maybe the battery-indicator is indicating wrong, deciphering add-on wiring confustications, and etc. Yeah, it was the solenoid. After an autopsy, one of the coil wires wasn't making contact. Didn't see the tiny diode til later, which ended up confusing the reading - I'd assumed it wasn't there when I was ohming the coil since it was encased in gunk/grime. Just goes to show ya, go with the gut-feel. Now that I got it running, I'm going to have a lot more questions but will save those for specific posts. Stay tuned... Oh, and thanks for the help! |
