Default 03 CC DS Making a whirling whinning sound... hmm?

Got rid of the last project and picked up another gas cart. Kawi 350 I think.. Lifted with 22's. Not much too it. Anyways I put it in Matinance mode and threw it in neutral and the cart still makes the noise. So I know it has nothing to do with the rear end at all. Drives fine, performs fine ect... Its just annoying.

I was thinking starter/Gen wearing down? Not sure how to explain the noise though, I would basically say like a loud electric motor and it varies with the throttle.

Idears?

Got any pic's of your cart? I am getting ready to lift mine and like seeing pictures of similar carts to get an idea what mine will end up looking like.

Actually after taking the time to actually stop and listed to it closely... I think its coming out of that clutch deal on the motor... Is there a bearing in between the two pulleys??

Nope. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images...ve_clutch.jpg/

Pull the drive belt off, then the S/G belt if the noise is still there. That might help get closer to the source of the whining.

Isn't the driving clutch different on a 2003? Though this drawing is up to '91, it shows a bearing where the sound is coming from (#2). Is the '03 similar?

The bearing you're referring to is the idler bearing. It only spins while the car is initially turning over to start. Once the engine fires and the clutch engages the belt quits rolling on the idler and the sound will stop. If you're still hearing this sound after the engine starts to run you can eliminate this as your problem. Let me ask you this. Do you have a factory starter belt on the car? Part #101916701 FYI... I've seen lots of aftermarket belts make funny noises, ESPECIALLY the ones that have teeth in them. The belt should be smooth.
