Default Exhaust Issue

I'm not sure I'd call it an issue really but I've got some blue smoke coming out of my exhaust when I start off and when I slow down? It doesn't bother me at all but I'm just trying to be careful and avoid a bigger problem down the road.

if your compression is good? it's either valve guide seals or a little to much oil in the block.

Well, it's running close to what I would call perfect, minus the smoke. It's not like there is a ton of it or anything, I just don't wanna have major problems later. Because it's running fine I haven't done a compression test yet so maybe that's an option I will explore.

Have you changed the oil lately? It could have too much.

Air cooled engines like a little thicker oil unless you are using it in the snowy winter. I suggest straight 30 wt so it doesn't break down as easily and better yet is synthetic. Some people have issues with synthetic however the facts are that it is a better lubricant and doesn't break down as easily as the cheap stuff. You can buy the Wallmart brand pretty cheap anyway and it doesn't hold much so cost is irrelevant. If you have blue smoke anytime it IS an issue. I suggest you find the cause NOW rather than get a suprise later.
