Battery Issue
I recently acquired a 1993 DS Electric cart and I have been having issues with it since i got it. The cart quit running one day and it turned out to be the battery terminals were melted on 2 batteries. I replaced those 2 batteries with new ones, and now the first battery terminal is starting to melt. Since i am new to this golf cart scene I would like to know if anyone could tell me what could possibly be wrong. Thanks in advance.

Re: Battery Issue
Most common cause of melted battery posts is loose connections..... CLEAN and tighten all connections

Re: Battery Issue
Is the 93 a coil and resistor cart? Check the condition of the V-glide contacts... You should not be getting this kind of heat unless you have arcing connections somewhere? Retighten battery cables?

Re: Battery Issue
I am new to this, so i am not sure if it has a coil and resistor. Where is the V-glide? Is that the bar behind the batteries? The battery terminal that is melting has two wires, one from the charging port and the other goes to the long bar behind the batteries.

Re: Battery Issue
Correction: the two wires: one comes from the charging port to the Neg terminal and goes from the same neg terminal to the motor

Re: Battery Issue
They can be fixed, if just the top melted off, not the part into the battery.
