Not enough info in your post. If your talking about the solenoid for the controller, it should have pack voltage once its in fwd and the pedal is pushed on most carts. Year, model and what relay/solenoid your talking about may help you find the answer your looking for.

94 G8 E. I got it for $50 from work. It had worn out batteries and they wouldn't replace. Had been sitting in shop for 2 years. Put new charged batteries in it but it still won't move. The fuse and diods are good, switch is good, trying to find problem.

Did you follow the wiring diagram and check all of the components in the circuit? I've never worked on that model, but a lot of the Yamaha's we see have issues with the plug in connectors.

You said the switch is good, but there are multiple switches in the circuit that could be your problem. Follow the wiring diagram and you'll probably find the problem. It could be a corroded connector, a $20 micro switch or a more expensive F&R or controller. If you are calling the solenoid a relay, do you get pack voltage across the small terminals or does it click when you have key switch on, shift selector in FWD and the pedal is pressed? What is your pack voltage? Is it close enough to 36 for the controller to operate? If it doesn't you've got a wiring, connector or switch issue. If its clicking,
have you checked the voltage drop on the output side of the solenoid?

Thanks for the info. I was told by a technician to jump the solonoid if the wheels turn then its the solonoid. Found out its the solonoid.
