Default yamaha G1 starter relay assembly

I have a G1 forward solenoid no longer working and need a replacement. I have been reading A lot of artistic on what to look for but I ran into a project I would like to share what I have tried so fare. The problem is first is used vertices new solenoids the used were priced a little high for me on ebay. The next oppression scared the hell out of me which is to by new relays and rewire the set up from very old square type to the new ones on the market to day.

Did my home work and found a wiring diagram for the new type relays which required four jumpers. new relays i9n hand the big question is how due I make the new jumpers?

The pitchers below show what I have came up by using a piece of 3/8 soft drawn copper tubing flatting on steel plate and a 2x4" for a pattern to bend the tubing over for length.

I would have liked to post more pitchers but could not finger out how to

I have had a request to add stater cable placement this is what I found on this forum by "spriddle" 12-05-2006 and thanks to him for posting this information

F1 (front of st/gen)
A1 (passenger side bottom)
A2 (passenger side top)
in the pincher I attached you will see the wording on the no connections that says sub lead negative ( this is the neg lead from battery)

one thing I would like to say while you are wiring add a ground wire to frame that is supporting the motor and the frame for the rest of frame . the ground from the battery may not be installed and will cause potential problems. I burned out the ground wire to the Maginot or what ever you call it.and had to take the engine apart to repair the wire all I needed to prevent this was a ground from the battery to the frames.

tips to now the control wires to the relay the yellow wire goes on the left relay relay the blue goes on the rear of the right relay if the key work backward just switch the yellow and the blue. The black wires go on the center terminal on the front of relay " post that has the ground wire from the battery" you may have 2-3 small black wires on this post. one of these wires may have a inline fuse in it check it to see if it not blown.
Good luck !!!
I had a ruff time figuring this out myself.

I am also trying to change over to the new style solenoids on my G1. I used your idea of the copper tubing for the jumper wires, worked great! Can u please add a pic of the set-up that u have on your cart. I'm not sure what i have wrong but still can't get rev. to work. Fwd works fine. Thanks
