1989 Marathon starter generator pulley
Just got in my new starter, the pulley on the old starter is larger do i need to change it out.

My instinctive thought is no, as the way the generator is configured is to work with a pulley that size. Seems to me you might need a shorter belt.
However, maybe someone else will weigh in. |

You may enough adjustment to handle the smaller pulley but if not try a smaller belt. Did you get the starter as a replacement ment for your cart?

Yes the old starter is bad, so i just got the new one. A rebuilt one is a bit expensive and I need it running by next week. I may try and rebuild it later I like to do as much as I can my self.
