Default 97 Yamaha G16e electric (36v) Reverse Buzzer on W/key off

First let me say that I have tried to solve my problems by reading the forums for weeks.... The problem I'm running into is incomplete threads (I would say 99.5%). Meaning that the OP (original poster) never comes back and gives a definitive answer as to whether the answers to their questions was a successful fix. I have been a member at a certain BBQ/Smoker forums for YEARS and know the feeling when the same questions are asked over and over. We encourage the OP to come back after the cook/smoke, with pictures (food porn), and let us all know the results.

The cart was just obtained a few days ago and everything looks like OEM equipment (stock) .... knowing the batteries were bad I went and got all new ones... cleaned all connections and reassembled... Pack showing 37.8 volts.

So here we go with some of the same questions (sorry).

What I am finding,

1. The reverse buzzer comes on even with the key off ?
2. The cart runs but has very very slow take off and takes a bit to get to high
speed?
3. Runs for 5,10,15,20 minutes (pending terrain) and cuts off. The controller
is HOT to the touch (thermal overload I'm assuming) ?

My GUESS (after reading first) is going to be the controller is bad ...

Battery Charger

A Lestronic II, 14100... Read some threads that a charger is suppose to come on for a few seconds, turn off, and then come back on. Is this correct for this charger ?

If that's the case this charger comes on @20 amps and stays there. After awhile settles down to 18 amps

Those few questions for now

"THANKS"
JD

If the cart cut off when the controller gets hot and runs again when the controller cools off it will need a new speed control. Alltrax SR48400 or SR48500 are the most popular replacements. Both controllers require an upgraded solenoid. Read more info here > https://alltraxinc.com/sr-series/
SR48400 (460 max amps) is*fine for 2 out of 3 of big tires or rear seat or aftermarket motor*
I hope this helps.

Thanks Scottyb.. I will be ordering soon...

As for the charger question... anybody have an idea ? I don't leave the charger on as the pack shows 37.8v now.. I don't want to leave it on and it not shut off (assuming there is a problem) and burn the new batteries up...

OK.. Just received controller (SR48400) and heavy duty solenoid from Cartsunlimited (ScottyB). Thought I would be able to whiz right through the installation. Upon further review that won't be the case. It won't be as simple as drilling a couple of holes to mount the SR. The factory mount has 2 1/2" cut outs in it and that's where the holes of the new controller line up. And then only the two bottom holes. The top holes in the new controller are above the top of the factory mount. The only way I'm seeing to get it installed is to cut out the factory mount and making and welding in a new mount (not good).

Then I have some wiring issues I'm not understanding on the solenoid. If I am reading the prints right you would not use the existing black wire that went to the original solenoid but rather run a new wire from new solenoid to J1 on the new controller ? There is no black wire from the existing harness that I cut loose from the factory controller to hook to J1. Or do you use both a new and the old black wire to the solenoid ? I'm assuming that it's just a ground and J1 could be hooked to ground somewhere closer to the controller...
