So those of you that may not know, it's that mesh end cap on the end of the muffler. It gets clogged up with debris from inside the EFI muffler, starts backfiring, and shutting down performance. This is the 4th time I've seen this on a Drive 2, but never this bad and never smoking like this.

Removing the mesh endcap fixed the problem. But why is this happening? Is a new muffler recommended?

Common problem, lots of folks just remove them when they get their carts.

Like all the new weed eaters and blowers with their spark arrestors. We always knock them out and avoid the clogging.

Alright, back to this issue...

Removing the cap on the end of the quiet tech muffler may seem to fix the bogging down issue, but I've got a couple carts that just seem to have an unbearable exhaust fume coming that i'm getting complaints about. Anyone have know why these quiet tech engines do this?

Bad Gas?
Bad Muffler?

Any help would be appreciated.

I've got a 2022 model that puts off some horrible exhaust fumes so I'll follow this thread in hopes that somebody will come along with the solution,it's really disheartening to pay right at $9500. for a cart and it has issues like this .

Following as well! I have a 2022 Drive2 that had strong exhaust odor but it's not as bad since the cart is getting some hours on it and the weather is warming up.

So the G29 2022 are EFI!....They should run clean with no fumes, my G29 2011 with carby is a bit smelly at times but bring a carby that's to be expected i guess...What fuel are you using, as In E10 (AU) regular 91 or premier 98?

What octane is that?...I use 91 ...I have been toying with using 98 but the price of it here atm is ridiculous ...$2.45 a litre.
