![]() I am installing a voltage reducer 48/12v .When I connect ground wire it makes a big spark . Is this normal or a bad reducer? This is on the input side, no load on output.

![]() Don't connect the ground to frame. Always ground to the battery negative. (-)

![]() Hooked up the Fore-Par 30A unit. Big pop when connecting to bat terminal. Two or three times. Scarry. Then it stopped and works fine, so far. 12.4V out. Thinking maybe its got some big caps and it sees a lot of inrush.

![]() . . most voltage reducers will spark when first connected to battery . . the one I bought even had a warning included so you were aware of it . . I think it has something to do with the initializing of the reducer, ie, it starts working the second it gets power . . .
