Default 95 medalist rear diff question

i recently took my motor off. Before my motor was removed, with the cart on jack stands i could spin one wheel and the other wheel would spin in the opposite direction smoothly. now that my motor is off i can spin one wheel and the other dosent really move. does this sound right?

Yep, now that motor is off, it is easier to spin the input shaft than it is to spin the other brake. Normal.

I was thinking about pulling the rear diff case off toady and giving a visual inspection inside. what should i look for when open? When putting cover back on do you just use a self sealer gasket? is a 80/90 diff fluid ok to use?

1. I use a RTV gasket sealer that's gear oil approved.

2. 75w 90 synthetic gear oil.
