Default Power wise we charger never cuts off

I bought a used 2011 rxv over the weekend. It is 48 volt with 4 12 volt batteries. The charger shows a 2 second green light blink and it has been connected for 24 hours straight. I checked batteries 2 have 13 volts and other has 12.8 volts. And together it's 54.2 volts. Batteries are hot to the touch so is the charger. It's a power wise QE charger

Are the plates covered properly with electrolyte?

They are all full of water. I guess that's what you are referring to

I'm not sure what fully charged voltage should be. I have read some chargers don't show full charge until between 58 and 62 volts. Should I let mine continue to charge and see if it cuts off when it gets that high? I feel like the extra voltage is making my batteries bad quicker.

I'm guessing that by your comments that you are not charging at this time? How long have you been off the charger and what is the voltage now? Yes a 48 volt charger may indeed be looking for a finish voltage of 60 volts. Also what is hot to the touch? Are they in the range of warm or are they truly hot to the touch?

It has been off charge for about two hours and it is at 50.1 volts. Batteries are warm but still sound like they are boiling

image.jpgThe batteries are Trojan t-1275plus and they are 2010 batteries but before I buy new batteries I want to make sure the charger is not messed up and going to ruin my new batteriesimage.jpg

Now keep in mind that bubbling which is normal is not the same as boiling. All battery will outgas while being charged to some degree and IIRC older battery will bubble more than new ones would.... Also that 50.1 volts is just a little better than 80 % charged..... I say let it charge overnight and see how things look in the morning; if the charger is then off let it sit least 6 to 8 hours to normalize then take voltage readings...

Should it take that long for batteries to get to full charge? It had already been on charge for 24 hours straight. I checked water in batteries. Two of the batteries had a cell with really low water so I filled them up and hooked charger back up. That's when it stayed on for 24 hours straight.
