Default Wiring in Fog Lights

I'm new to the carting world, but just got an 83 Marathoner, and installed some fog lights on it, just don't know exactly how to wire in since it is a 12V lights and running on 6V batts. Can anyone tell me the way to wire in, or do I need some type of converter?

run two 6v in series... that will get you 12v. Some may say that you need a converter since the two 6v in series might get you 14 or so volts... but I have been doing it that way for years and neve had a problem.

Positive for lights on the positive terminal of the first battery and the black on the positive or neg of the second battery? Is that how? Maybe a little more direction? Im not very technical when it come to this?

Use a volt meter and CONFIRM you are tapping 12v before applying any load.

I'm assuming your lights are switched. Run the power to positive terminal of first battery and the ground to the adjacent battery negative.

THERE ARE NO FRAME GROUNDS ON ELECTRIC CARTS.

IMO BEST IF LIGHTS ARE ISO-MOUNTED.

I isolate/insulate all accessories and connections.

HIH and good luck.

Your battery layout may be a little different but the concept is the same. If it were me...I would rotate the 12 volt connection between the other sets every so often. This places more of a load on those 2 batteries more so than the others but by rotating you can minimize the negative effects.

Last night I was installing the "premium light kit" for the EZGO and I noticed that they had supplied FUSES and FUSE HOLDERS for BOTH the positive and negative wires to the lights.

Not a bad idea, especially if installing lights that may not have the 12V negative isolated from the frame, which from my experience it is typicall of ALL automotive electrical parts to use the frame as the 12V common, and on a GOLF CART - grounding anything is a NO-NO.

Thanks Everyone so much for the help, I figured it was something really simple, but just couldn't make heads or tails of it. I got them wired in and they work great. I would take a guess this is how that the stereo systems are wired in as well?

Thanks a bunch for the help.
