One little detail. The bandit motor will wind up costing you more like $350 when you add round trip shipping.

I agree, I had one myself before I upgraded. Just providing a little more information to help him decide which way to go.

These plug and play upgrades that need no other mods to go along with them... (Bandit motor, XCT300 controller) does this also apply to the DS, electric carryall, etc.? Just curious

For my 2012 Precedent, I got the XCT 300 controller from David at Revolution golf carts. On 22" in tires, I went from 18 mph to 23-25 mph measured with a GPS. Lots of torque improvement as well. I am very satisfied. TahoedawgZ71 knows his stuff.

Thank you sir. While I am definitely taking nothing away from the PQ Bandit upgrade (I think it's great), I believe the controller swap is more bang for your buck. You'll gain more torque with a controller swap and run close to the same speed as you do with the motor upgrade, all while keeping the factory motor.

David, I know that with the Bandit motor, I'd lose the regen. If I do a controller upgrade, is this still the case?

The only way you lose the regen by using a bandit motor is by the use of a high speed magnet, which will disable regen on a factory controller. If you have an aftermarket controller such as an Alltrax XCT or a Curtis 1268, you can set it for a 4 pole magnet and control the regen by the settings within the controller. So technically, the bandit motor itself doesn't eliminate regen, the magnet does.

I believe a bandit motor comes with a speed magnet only.
