Just pull all the old batteries out and plop six 6 volters in there. Do you know if your drive system is stock (controller, motor, etc)?

It certainly won't hurt, and it will allow for future upgrades.

I would recommend at least a 400 amp controller if you upgrade. 300 won't get you a huge increase; a little, but not a lot. You want to use deep cycle 'golf cart' batteries. Not marine deep cycle, as those are made for cycling as well as cranking. And obviously don't use cranking batteries. What brand does Costco sell?

They're Kirkland but interstate makes them, Costco just puts their name on it from what all my friends tell me. Plus they're cheaper than interstate. That's what gets me wondering. Yeah those 6V batteries aren't cheap from what I have been looking at. How about the solenoid, do I have to upgrade that when I upgrade the controller?

If they are made by Interstate, I would buy them without hesitation.

Yeah, that is the downside of electric carts, batteries can run you upwards of $700 for a pack.

And yes, the solenoid must be upgraded as well. If you want more information about upgrades, talk to ScottyB at Carts Unlimited.
