Default beeping and flashing lights

2003 EZ GO TXT Freedom.

Plugged in the charger last night and the lights started flashing and the horn/alarm started beeping. I unplugged the charger but it kept doing it so I lifted the seat and pulled a small wire off of a fused terminal, which stopped the noise and flashing. Any time I touch that wire to the terminal it starts up the beeping and flashing again.

A little back story might help. The cart had been stored and, I'm told, maintained for the past six months. We just got it back on Friday and since then, it seems to me, that it discharges faster than normal. It never went dead but with very little daily driving the gauge seemed to drop faster than last year. Charge it very night, and it might just be my imagination, but I thought it worth mentioning.

All help appreciated.
