Re: 1/2 speed throttle question
Sounds like a Series drive with a reversing contactor.
-------------- @yurtle: I count seven series motors with a 170 prefix and four SepEx motor with the 170 prefix on the D&D website for EZGO carts. (Hint, D&D calls SepEx motors Regen motors) http://www.ddmotorsystems.com/EZGO.php |

Re: 1/2 speed throttle question
Thanks. Being series, I assumed he could use B+ from the MSs, but since he has no FNR...

With some steering diodes, 1/2 speed reverse as well as a reduced performance mode can be obtained with series carts. ---------- @ mgray70: Putting B+ on pin-4 (orange wire) of a DCS or DCX controller puts it into reverse. Also, a speed sensor is not needed to get regen braking. Neither the DCS nor DCX controllers used a speed sensor and both had regen braking. |

Re: 1/2 speed throttle question
Thanks Johnnieb, I knew it didn't use the speed sensor, but I thought it disabled the regen as well.

Re: 1/2 speed throttle question
Guys, thanks for all the answers. I did exactly as yurtle advised and problem solved. I ran a jumper from B+ (the white batt charge wire) to the 1/2 speed spade on the controller, and put a toggle switch in it.
How do yall feel about regen braking? For or against? I mean if my is capable of it then should I make it work? |

Re: 1/2 speed throttle question
A series cart can't do regen. You can download the free software from Alltrax, and tweak some of the settings from a laptop, if you so desire. Not much to do, if the original owner knew what he was doing, and based on what you tell us, sounds like he did. You can view and save the settings, and change how fast it responds to pressing the "Gas" pedal or letting off of it, you can see what the amperage is set for, but I suspect it's fine. I just like to look under the hood.

Re: 1/2 speed throttle question
I'm confused by the statement that the lever has been replaced. Any drive system that has been modified can have a rocker F&R...
Please use the flow chart attached to ID the cart drive system & tell us if the cart has a 'run/tow' switch |
