Extended battery hold down links
Does anybody make extended battery hold down links ? I installed a new aluminum battery tray from battery Pete and ordered a new set of hold downs. And they are too short for the new batteries I installed, Trojan ranger 160's any help would be great ! If no one makes hem I'll just cut and weld in an inch and call it a day. Thanks Matt

Re: Extended battery hold down links
matt......it may be easier to just get the right length piece of rod, put the proper bend at the end, and thread the one end instead of cutting and welding in a piece.

Re: Extended battery hold down links
I prefer to use stainless steel all-thread as replacement rods. You can bend the bottom end to engage the mounts in the tray or drill a hole and use a washer/nut or doubls nuts locked.

Re: Extended battery hold down links
really shouldn't need a BFH......as if you cold bend them you will put a lot of stress on them at the bends. APPLY HEAT!! as in a torch and with the proper amount of heat you can easily bend them.

Re: Extended battery hold down links
Ez does make a longer hold down. Different end hook but 13” vs 10. 70386G01

Re: Extended battery hold down links
Thanks for the help and recommendations Actually I went to the local cart barn and asked them about it and even took in the new links that I bought. And they said thy were for an early model ezgo marathon? Which is why they we're short. I've got an 07 ezgo txt. But when I ordered them from amazon it said ezgo txt ? Anyway So they hooked me up with the correct links for 7 bucks. And they fit perfect. Batteries are good and snug now.
