Default 2009 Precedent Won't Go

I need a little help diagnosing a problem. I was adding heavy duty leaf springs on the rear of my cart. During installation I hit the post on the motor with the green wire with my wrench. There were sparks. I should have disconnected the battery. Now the cart won't move.

I have looked at the controller and wire and don't see any signs of melting or shorts.

Is there a fuse or something that I may have blown?

Thanks,
Bobby

I'm afraid you let the smoke out of the controller.

OP, does it alarm when you place it in reverse? Or when you try to push it manually??

It's a bad controller. No doubt about it. It only takes a small arc of the motor posts and the controller is toast.

Tahoe, is there any way to proactively install a diode or something to prevent this type of accident? Of course not being foolish enough to touch the live motor posts with a wrench between the two is obviously method number 1, just curious though. And Alltrax has a a built in stop gap for this exact thing correct?

Putting the cart in tow would have prevented this accident.

I'm sure there's a way. Sergio would probably be your best bet for a good answer to this question. I don't know where you could get a diode capable of allowing enough amperage to pass through to operate the vehicle properly. The Alltrax is polarity protected and should prevent this from happening.
