Default speed issue on 1983 converted 36v to 48 v

Hi from Lowry City Missouri
i have 83 club car 36v converted to 48 volt going up hill has no power i replaced the batterys but still just makes it up slight incline i bought this just recently from a guy who let his daughters drive it i think he may have reduced the speed on it so my question is there a speed switch on a 83 electric club car and if so where is it located? Thanks

Is it just a voltage increase on a 36v system up to 48v? If so, you should have gotten like ~30% more torque and speed. If you did a solid state upgrade with a controller, I would contact them and inquire how they set up your controller.

If it is still an old resistor cart, then check all of your micro switches and solenoids and see if one has failed and not allowing full voltage to the motor.

Here are the wiring diagrams you can reference for yours.... http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...-diagrams.html

An 83 must be converted to solid state to run 48v. Please identify the speed controller.
