2014 Club Car Help
Hey guys I just recently sold my cart and ended up buying another project cart. I went from a 2008 precedent to now having a 2014 precedent with the ERIC. so my question is should I just buy a Plumquick motor and then have my computer upgraded at club car to get around 20-25mph or should I go full Alltrax/motor combo? also id rather not buy a different charger as I had to do last time so I'm hoping I can continue to use the cool ERIC charger (I'm pretty sure that's what its called) I automatically upgrade all the cables. So before I spend unnecessary money I figured I would ask the pros. God only knows if it wasn't for BGW my last cart would not have been the success it ended up being. Also I will be running the largest wheels and tires I can fit on stock height

Re: 2014 Club Car Help
With that cart and an Alltrax XCT300 controller you can get 25-27 mph out of it with that motor. Look for scottyb's thread where he did the test with a controller only upgrade on his '13 or '14 Precedent.
No need to change chargers, that is a High Efficiency charger.... |

Re: 2014 Club Car Help
I have a 2015 precedent I am working on slowly. I went for the alltrax 500 amp controller. It wasn’t much more and gave me options for the future. With that controller and stock wheels and tires I was running around 24mph.
I added 23 inch tires when I lifted my cart and it now goes 29-30. I just ordered a plum quick executioner motor (so glad I went with the 500 amp controller) about 3 weeks ago so should have that soon. Would definitely go for alltrax. Regardless of which amp version you get. I am still using the ERIC charger now but will often put on the battery saver which keeps a constant maintenance charge level whereas the ERIC charger will stop charging for what I think is 2 weeks until it kicks in again. |

Re: 2014 Club Car Help
I think If You want the ERIC charger to disable the XCT Controller when it is plugged to the cart (interlock) You will need to do a small wiring change.
You need to disconnect the 10kΩ resistor that is connected to the sense wire that keeps that line at a high level. You would then use the "disable cart when charger input is low/high" option in the Alltrax software. |

Re: 2014 Club Car Help
well I had the alltrax xct500 in my last cart and now I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and get the evbattery 6400wh lithium conversion so I will definitely go with another xct500, seems like ill have a charger for sale shortly lol, and sense I can alter speeds on the alltrax I may as well get the executioner as well and just hook a spped control to the alltrax so I'm not doing 40 on the golf coarse. I'm litraley a few days away from pulling the trigger on this lithium buy. so if anyone thinks its a super bad idea please let me know. but seems pretty straight forward

Re: 2014 Club Car Help
btw unrelated question but does anyone know the biggest tire/wheel combo that will fill under a stock cart (they refused to let me take my lifted cart with 23" tires on the coarse)

I was considering going that route until I changed it up and lifted. |
