Re: 2006 Precedent won’t charge
And if after these most recent checks everyone mentioned doesn't reveal the problem, then we need to know "how" you bypassed the OBC as if you did it correctly, and none of these other things are bad, it should have triggered the charger unless it has a problem...

Re: 2006 Precedent won’t charge
Unfortunately the Precedent does not have a sense wire fuse like a DS, it is inside the OBC.
In addition to cleaning all battery connections as suggested, also spray WD40 in the charge receptacle and work the charger plug in/out a few times to clean it. |

Re: 2006 Precedent won’t charge
Update. Today I was able to clean all the battery connections and also clean the charging port. Still no luck. Can someone link me to the correct way to bypass the obc on an 06 Precedent? I don’t even remember the way I did it previously so I can just attempt the correct way. Current charge on the batteries is 46v across the pack and I’m getting around 35v at the charging port.

Re: 2006 Precedent won’t charge
Usually for charger run testing you bypass the OBC by running a jumper from the back side of the charge receptacle (where the black 10g wire is that goes into the harness) and run it directly to the Main Pack Negative. Also take the grey sense wire coming off the same receptacle and land it to the same place. This would have allowed the charger to turn on "if" the OBC had failed.
Not sure if you bypassed the lockout circuit too, which would have been the blue and white wire on the harness connector. |
