Default Charge in tow mode???

2014 Club Car Precedent with ERIC charger.

Had a friend tell me I need to put the cart in tow mode when placed on charge.
I looked at the manual I found on line and did not see anything about being in tow mode to charge.

I believe that's a Urban Myth. One of those things that get repeated so much that people start to believe it.

It will charge either way. I have mine in Tow lately due to little ones being close by all the time and they have gotten big and smart enough to turn on the key and flip the rocker....

Charging in tow mode is better as it ensures there is zero current draw from the controller etc. Not to mention a faulty MCOR could be drawing small current to the controller if not all the way back at 0 when releasing the throttle.

Charging in Tow is only recommended for long term storage.

The MCOR power comes from the key switch so as long as the key switch is off the MCOR has no effect.

On a cart with OBC the warning light will not work in Tow so You don't know if the charge is failing.

The ERIC system warning light will still work in Tow but there is no advantage to put in Tow unless You are not using the cart for a month or more or for safety reasons like NoleFan4Ever uses it.
