Creak in drivers side leaf spring / bushing
Over the winter I lifted my old clubcar. When I was working on the rear, I found that the rubber bushings that the leaf spring bolts go through were basically gone. So I put in all new bolts, shackles and bushings. Now there is a very loud creak coming from the leaf spring somewhere whenever the cart hits a bump. If I get under the cart and make it bounce I can feel the creak with my hand on the spring, I don't feel it really on the shock. I'm reasonably sure its coming from the rear bushing/bolt/shackle/spring assembly on the drivers side.
I did lube the bushings before putting them in. Has anyone had this before? Could I have tightened the bolts too much? Should I just go after it with lube? Thanks! |
