Smile 2000.5 Club Car DS install HD leaf springs

Recently bought 2000.5 Club Car DS 48V.
I am going to install a rear seat so I got a set of HD leaf springs. I watched a video on installation of leaf springs but it was for a Precedent. In the video they said you do not need the rear shock absorbers with the HD leaf springs. I reinstalled the shock (only did one side today) anyway. Should I have removed the shock or is it okay to leave it installed.
Thanks to everyone for all the information that you have posted on the forum. I am a novice at all this but having a great time with researching upgrades to my Club Car and then doing the upgrade.

Leave the shock. It's a dampener and perfectly fine with HD springs.

My jury is still out on the actual benefit of the shocks with HD leaf springs where I use my cart. When I installed my lift I added a second shorter helper leaf for those times when I have some load (max 200 lbs) on the rear. I just removed my wore out factory shocks and driving the cart without shocks I really can't see a big difference. If I was driving on a cobblestone street or washed out washboard red clay trail then the shocks would make some difference.

Yeah, that is kinda what me and NCPW was pointing out, on carts they are not as much a shock absorber for as much as they are a dampener/snubber.
