cart accelerates to full speed when key turned
I have an 87 club cart that just quit running. All 5 solenoids clicked. Batteries ok, motor tested ok. I finally found the insulation on the white wire running into the speed control box had been rubbing on the metal box and shorted out. I cut out the bad part of the wire and spliced it. After putting everything back together I turned the key on and the motor went immediately to full speed. Does it both in forward and reverse. fortunately I had the rear end off the ground or I would have needed a new garage door. I would appreciate any suggestions. thanks

Re: cart accelerates to full speed when key turned
Sounds like you have a welded (stuck) main solenoid and at least on of your resistor solenoids. Check all the solenoids and micro-switches.

Re: cart accelerates to full speed when key turned
The microswitches seem ok. I kind of thought it might be a solenoid problem.
Thanks for your advice. |
