Question on charging for the pros
I am a newbie to carts and my head is about to blow up and I could use some advice.
I got a cart with no batteries or cables. It is a 2001 EZGO TXT 36v. I bought 6 used Trojan batteries that appear to be in great shape based on looking at the cells. I went through and added the batteries and cables and it runs like a champ... Now the bad part. It won't charge back up. So I have been driving it and the charge continues to go down, but it will not recharge. Here is what I have done so far: Bought a different charger (Powerwise 3)- Still didn't work Paid a guy from a local shop to come and look at it. He said the charger needed a new board. I replaced the board and that didn't work. I built a bridge to bypass the board and the charger fires up, but no charge to the batteries. I bought a 12v trickle charger and tried to manually charge them 2 at a time (6v batteries). Left it all night and it didn't charge. Any ideas at all? |

Re: Question on charging for the pros
Never heard of a Powerwise-3 charger. Please post pictures of it.
The 36V golf cart chargers typically need to sense at least 30V at the charger receptacle to turn on. 1. What is your battery pack voltage? 2. What is the voltage at the charger receptacle terminals? |
