Default EZGO RXV with factory Iskra motor: need new coupler

I have an EZGO RXV with a factory installed Iskra motor. The coupler and the input shaft have failed... it grinds and doesn't turn the wheels. I pulled the motor out and removed the coupler by welding a 3/4" nut to the coupler and tightening down a 3/4" bolt to pull the coupler off.

I've contacted my local EZGO dealer to get a new coupler but they say EZGO does not carry them. I contacted Iskra, in Slovenia, and they said they wouldn't sell me the coupler... that I need to check with EZGO. I went to the EZGO website but couldn't find a way to contact them directly.

Does anyone know where to get a coupler for the Iskra motor? It's smooth on the motor side and splined on the input shaft side.

Does anyone know how I can contact EZGO directly to see if they can get me the part? Local dealership doesn't want to help.

It's such a waste of a good motor if I can't get a replacement coupler.

Thanks for your help.

Well, I'm not sure on the coupler (I dont have factory parts access at home). But, I sure hope you planned a new input shaft into this repair. If I had ever removed the coupler (without welding on it), I'd send you a good used one.

Update:
I contacted Iskra... they won't sell the coupler... they said to contact EZGO... EZGO said they don't have the part, contact Iskra.
So as far as I know there is no way to get a new coupler for the Iskra motor.
I now have a perfectly good motor as a paper weight. What a waste! I find it strange that EZGO will sell the input shaft but not the coupler. What good is a new input shaft with out a new coupler? It would be so easy for EZGO to have the coupler in stock... instead they think it's just fine to throw away a perfectly good motor.

This is an old thread and I don't know if it was ever resolved, but I'm up against the same situation. I am working with a 2009 EzGo RXV, Danaher controller, Iskra motor from Slovenia, motor coupler badly worn and slipping. Has a supplier ever been found to get this coupler ? Motor runs perfect, just put a new bearing encoder on it, and looks like can't use it. Any input ?

Possibly any other available coupler will fit the Iskra motor shaft

Just got another idea, member blackbadger reported about a burnt Iskra motor, but the coupler should be still fine...?

Just an idea... Did anyone try taking a coupler to a machine shop to have one made ?
