Default EZGO TXT PDS FNR power

2006 Ezgo Shuttle 4/6 48v

I was hoping i could get some insight from the group. I think I have it all wired correctly but need input.

brand new wire harness for the cart its a curtis 1264 controller

I have a reliance voltage reducer

I would like the power to the voltage reducer to be controlled with the key switch.

but my cart as its wired now won't turn on the power to the voltage reducer until its put into Forward or reverse with the key in the on position.

So every time I switch from F to R everything turns off and back on. this can't be good to cycle the reducer this many times. and later when i put a radio in I would like to to stay on with just key.

Default Re: EZGO TXT PDS FNR power

what I did was instead of trying to go through the key switch, I just put a toggle switch in-line between the battery pack and the voltage reducer. so its powered up all the time when using the cart.....you just need to remember to turn it off when you are done. I did this by putting the toggle switch next to t he key switch AND its the type of toggle that when it has power, it has a light on it......that way its a visual reminder to turn off the power to it.
