should voltage drop
On a 48 volt cart with a fully charged battery is it unusual for the voltage to drop to approximately 45.5 volts under WOT on level ground? Starting pack voltage is 50.6 and top speed seems normal.

Re: should voltage drop
I'd say maybe yes, maybe no.
To determine if dropping from 50.6V to 45.5V is abnormal you need to know how many amps are being drawn when at top speed on level pavement with WOT. A theoretically perfect 48V pack with a theoretically perfect amp delivery system (cables, contacts and controller) drops 1.5V per 100A of current draw, so the current draw under perfect conditions would be 340A for a 5.1V drop, but in the real world the voltage drop per 100A is two or three times that, which is 170A or 113A respectively. The best way to check the voltage drop is record a data log from the SR controller so you know what the amp draw is. |
