1999 48 volt club car IQ barely runs slow
I replaced all 6 batteries with trojan T185. Ireplaced the 5 wires connecting the batteries and it ran great. Put it on charge and the next morning it would barely run very very slow. Checked charger on another cart it is good. Does anybody have any idea what to try next.

Re: 1999 48 volt club car IQ barely runs slow
I hope you just pushed the wrong key when making post? 8 volt Trojans are T-860, T-875, T890?? not T-185 you showed?
Its possible you either have a incorrect battery connection or even the possibility of a defective battery? Go over all cable connections from passeger side plus going to solenoid and back to driver side rear battery pack ground. Check each battery for proper full charge voltage 8.49, and pack voltage for 50.96. |

Correction on batteries they are T875 and the voltages have been checked with and without load and are ok.

When you say runs very very slow please describe more. I'm wondering if it accelerates normally then tops out at around 5 mph and goes steady but no faster?

It's a 99 model and has a push button F-N-R so I thought it was an IQ. When you give it gas it starts very slow barely moving then gets to about 7 MPH but will not climb any kind of incline

1999 CC with rocker switch is a REGEN 2 rather than a IQ which didnt start until about 2001.

Re: 1999 48 volt club car IQ barely runs slow
It's a 99 PowerDrive Plus, or Regen 2.. The IQ system was not released until 2002. Here's the first step. Remove access door and tell me whether you've got one or two solenoids. Then, if you do have 2, which you should, tell me if they're both clicking when you press the accel pedal. I'm guessing the Dynamic Braking solenoid, on the driver's side is stuck in the closed position and allowing all of the current to dissipate through the resistor coil. I'll bet you're only getting one click.

Re: 1999 48 volt club car IQ barely runs slow
another sure way to tell is just take a look at the resistor coil on the braking soleniod if its glowing red than your problem is in that system......had a 96 do that to me drove me crazy at 1st but i found it......................

First of all I would like to thank everyone for there help. Just got a chance to look at the cart. It does have 2 solenoid's and when I press the gas pedal I only get one click.
