Default Shifter Handle

My cart is a '96 EZ-GO TXT, 36v. It's a series cart with the little short, black "shifter" handle by the driver's right knee. My wife has trouble "shifting" from F to R. I've lubed it all I can and my conclusion is the handle's just too short for her to get enough leverage. So, I want to make a longer shifter handle. The shaft is about 9/16" square. Do any of you guys know what I could find that would fit over the shaft? Once I have that part in hand then I can fab up the rest of it to suit my taste.
Thanks for your ideas

Kix, Upgrade that cart to a rocker switch on the dash.... then you don't have to worry about any handle...... Call me tomorrow or shoot me a PM and we can talk about it if you want.....

as another option, you can always go this route as well:

http://www.jakesliftkits.com/liftkit...d-rxv-gas/7110

I can get you a slightly better price than what's listed on that site if that will work for you.

not really, it's just something I have been building for quite awhile now. I posted a wiring schematic about it awhile back, it's pretty simple to do, just takes a little time and some mild fabrication ability.

i was thinking of something along the lines of using a breaker bar and connecting it to the shifter shaft thing and making a long shift handle that i can remove as a semi-anti-theft device.
my idea is kinda eh, just on the drawing board for a project when i'm bored
