Re: 96 EZGO Fully charged, solenoid clicks will not move
I looks like you found your bad battery. You can replace one, but it won't last any longer than the rest of the old ones. As for cables we are all using 4g or better welder's cable. You can make your own or buy ready made. Steer clear of automotive cables.

Re: 96 EZGO Fully charged, solenoid clicks will not move
Check the Neg terminal on your batteries. There should be a two digit date code stamped into it. First digit is the month (A=Jan B=Feb etc) Second digit is year (1=2001 2=2002 etc)
If the batteries are over three years, I'd definitely replace them all. If they are less than three, I might try to find a good used Trojan 105 (or whatever you've got) approximately the same age. You might get a couple more years before you have to replace the whole pack. Here is a comparison of the more commonly available Golf Cart batteries http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...omparison.html If you replace all, be sure to charge them fully before first use and then break them in properly to get full energy storage capacity. (Only have about 75% capacity off the shelf and have to be "Matured" to get 100%) As for cables, I'll second AzPete's recommendation. (Read my Sig-Line ) Be sure to replace all the high current cables. (There's 13 or 14 of them, or something like that.) |

Re: 96 EZGO Fully charged, solenoid clicks will not move
Replaced all six batteries, replaced wires ( from carts unlimited)
Before above; Horn, lights, signals all worked fine, depress foot pedal and, selonoid clicked and cart would move slowley with pedal pushed slightly. I would hear motor like it was trying to work. After above; Horn clicks but no honk, lights are dim, signals nothing, press pedal selenoid clicks but nothing else Checked all connections to be sure they are tight. Any suggestions??? Thanks Chuck |

Re: 96 EZGO Fully charged, solenoid clicks will not move
My guess is either the batteries are not charged or one (or more) is installed backwards.
1. Verify batteries are installed and interconnected correctly. See attached Chart for orientation and connections. 2. Charge battery pack fully before first use. Sounds like it is too late for that, but better late than never. FYI - First charge will take 12 to 18 hours. Keep an eye on electrolyte level. Do not allow plates to become exposed. Use distilled water only. 3. Go to ScottyB's website and read everything he has about batteries, especially how to break new batteries in properly. What is the Battery Pack voltage? |

Re: 96 EZGO Fully charged, solenoid clicks will not move
I know so little about reading a wire diagram. I need to see if I can get someone to check it out for me. I will reply again when I have more info. Thanks so much for the help. Also will get some pics and attempt to post.

Re: 96 EZGO Fully charged, solenoid clicks will not move
Wireing checked out ok. Run diagnostics and think it might be the controler.
What do you think??? Don't want to buy a controler not knowing if it is bad. Chuck |
