Re: 96 EZGO Fully charged, solenoid clicks will not move
If the cart is trying to go but can't if might be a stripped rear hub? Can you watch the axle nuts while somebody else tries to go and see if one side is spinning without the wheel moving? Just pull the hub caps and check it out before we go any further down this road

We checked the rear hub and not a problem.

Re: 96 EZGO Fully charged, solenoid clicks will not move
something is amiss. after new batts and cables, you no longer have lights? lights have nothing to do with whether it runs. if they are hooked up wrong, it is likely something else is miswired. do you have any pics of the wiring?
you post pics by going to the bottom of your written post and clicking on "manage attachments", then browse thru your files. |

Check and see if you have power to the F&R micro switches

Re: 96 EZGO Fully charged, solenoid clicks will not move
ScottyB,
I have removed the controler. Looking for a part number. I find a number on the aluminum back plate, (P195841), but this does not appear to be a part number. How do I determine the correct controler? How do I check to see if I have power to the micro switches? Can I do that with the controler removed? Is there a way to verify if the controler is good? |

Re: 96 EZGO Fully charged, solenoid clicks will not move
Controller can only be tested in the cart. If the controller worked before new batteries then it should work now unless it was shorted out (reversed polarity)
Generally controller output test consists of verifying that it is powering up and putting out. Is the solenoid clicking when you try to go? if yes ~ Is there 36v+ at the controller B+ and B- terminals? if yes ~ What is the voltage reading from M- to B+ as the peddle is being depressed. It should start low and go to full pack voltage. |

Re: 96 EZGO Fully charged, solenoid clicks will not move
Scotty B,
Yes the solenoid clicks. B+ to B- voltage is = 38 volts M1- to B+ is 37.5 volts, increases to 38.4 volts as soleniod clicks, then gradually decreases to 38.1 volts as pedal is depressed. |

Re: 96 EZGO Fully charged, solenoid clicks will not move
Not trying to rob your post CJ but I seem to be having same symptoms as you.
I got question for Scotty. I have followed every step you have told CJ and I'm all good until you asked "Is solenoid clicking". Well, mine isn't. I just replaced it. Cart was working perfect before change out. Changed it just because. Dumb move, I guess. Any more suggestions for solenoid not clicking? O, I have 99 EZ GO Series with F&R switch, controller, and solenoid on passenger side. No tow switch. Thanks, Larry |

Re: 96 EZGO Fully charged, solenoid clicks will not move
CJ, it sounds to me like you need a controller. You could test your throttle input sender just to be sure.... what yr & model cart?
Breeze check your installation. Most solenoid problems come from being connected incorrectly. The small terminals (and wires) are the activation circuit. There are + and - wires and there are + & - terminals (determined by the diode install) it simply takes the presence of + & - to activate the solenoid. IF you need more help than this please start your own thread in the section your cart fits for the best help. welcome to bgw. |

Re: 96 EZGO Fully charged, solenoid clicks will not move
ScottyB,
I have a 1995 medalist. How do I identify the controller? There is a number on the aluminum plate the controller is mounted on P105841. |
