Re: 96 EZGO Fully charged, solenoid clicks will not move
cjfrog,
Just because it clicks, does not mean it is working. It could be stuck open or closed and still click. Have you went through these steps yet? http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...agnostics.html |

Re: 96 EZGO Fully charged, solenoid clicks will not move
From what I have read on the Forum I am not sure that there is a way to check a controller to see whether or not it is truly bad.
Also, Never trust a "rebuilt" controller, or have your controller rebuilt. If It is at all possible the best way to check would be to put another controller in and see if that fixes the issue. |

Re: 96 EZGO Fully charged, solenoid clicks will not move
Universal troubleshooting for all DC controllers (Series and SepEx)
Raise rear tires off ground so half ton cart doesn't take off unexpectedly and run over someone or something. Connect DVM Negative test lead to B- terminal Connect DVM Positive test lead to M- terminal. (M- is labeled A1 on some controllers). Charger unplugged from, cart. Key ON, F/R is either F or R. Press pedal just far enough to make solenoid click. You should measure FULL battery pack voltage (about 38.2 when fully charged for a 36V battery pack). IF you have zero volts, you open in the high current circuit. IF you have less than FULL battery pack voltage, you have excessive resistance the high current circuit. (The high current circuit consists of the cables, cable connections, solenoid contacts and the F/R switch contacts in a series drive.) If you do get FULL battery pack voltage, press pedal slowly to floor and the voltage should decrease to near zero volts. If it doesn't, you may have a Throttle problem or a defective controller. If it does decrease, you may have a motor problem or a mechanical jam of some type. |
