I have a voltage reducer on my cart to bring the 36 volt system down to 12 volts for my accessories. From the radio I have the power wire ran to a fuse box, the ground ran to a bus going to the common ground, and the "memory" wire ran to the "+" side of the battery in front of end battery to give 12 volts to the radio at all times so the presets and settings are stored. This way the power needed to run the radio comes from all 6 batteries instead of draining two.

Unless you have a 1990's vintage radio, that is incorrect.

All power on modern radios come from the Constant (Yellow) wire.

The red wire is simply a "remote trigger" wire, it caries very low current.

I thought that was what I said. That bit at the end was just about the voltage reducer.

If you have the constant power (what you referred to as "memory" wire), running to 2 batteries, then you are draining only those 2 batteries to power the radio.

I needed to run that to a 12 volt source or I would have to redo my settings every time I turn the key. Like you said it's a small draw

That picture shows the entire radio powered by a single battery (or 2x6v in your case).

The issue I pointed out was what I highlighted in Red in the first post, You kind of implied that you were running the radio from the DC converter (from all 6 batteries).

But I am. I have a voltage reducer to transform 36 volts down to 12 volts so my accessories don't drain two batteries down to nothing and they all share the load. I need to run a wire to two batteries aside from that to keep my settings on the radio when I turn the key off and send no power through the voltage reducer.

No automobile radios made in over 15 years work that way.

All power to the Radio comes from the constant power wire (yellow).

The red wire is just a "trigger".

Unless You have a relay that switches the Yellow wire from the DC converter side back to the 2 batteries when the converter is OFF, You are in fact running your entire Radio off the 2 batteries (even when the converter is ON).
