Battery light
I have a 2010 Precedent with 4 12V. The batterys are 14 months old, replaced once. With a volt meter they read 52.6 fully charged. The course I play is hilly and on the last 3 or 4 holes the battery light will come. After completing the round and driving the cart home the voltage is showing 48.8 volts.
The batterys are Interstate and were the ones put in under warranty. Should the battery light be coming on or is it another problem? Thanks Last edited by weekone; 01-02-2013 at 11:56 PM.. Reason: wrong location |

Re: Battery light
48.8 volts is slightly above 50% state of charge. Your battery light is probably coming on because 50% and below is probably a good minimum SOC to avoid. Not 100% sure but with a hilly course, as you indicated, your pack may be performing as well as can be expected. Comparison to past performance is also a good indicator that something "went south". A good cleaning and tightening of connections as well as an upgrade to heavier cables may help a little. The 12 volt pack has the lowest capacity of all the possible battery packs. Charge those batteries as soon as you get home. Hope this helps - RAY
PS - You should check pack voltage after resting the pack 6-12 hrs to see what your SOC is. 52.6 volts would indicate that you checked voltage shortly after charging. |
