Default Personality Plugs

I saw on another thread someone mentioning that no regeneration was done on "no chip"? I didn't want to hijack that thread with my (probably dumb) question, so I am asking here.

I've seen these personality plugs I can get for my cart. Red for speed, yellow for mild hill and blue for steep hill. If I install a red plug does that mean I will lose some of the regenerative properties of the cart?

Here's a couple diagrams that show the different "chips" that ezgo has that program the controller's rpm and regen braking strength. Note that the all terrain (no chip) and the freedom (red) have no braking at all.

There is no programing involved.....just plug in it, and your done. in reality, as you know, as you are looking it at, its really just a jumper.

They're plug and play. Turn key switch off, toggle run/tow to tow, install, and "play".

I know this an old thread, but has anyone ever put a switch on these to make it easier to change between modes? For example, if the kids are taking the cart, I would like them to be in STEEP mode, while I want freedom. Seems like I could just cut the longer wire of freedom plug and put an ON OFF switch.

Yes it has been done. The only thing is. You have to toggle the tow/run switch to make it change modes
