Default 99 Club Car Ds won't drive

I have a 99 Club car Ds series and it won't drive. It ran fine before I parked it about a month ago. It is a 48 v cart and has about 51 v in the batteries. The soliniod clicks when you press the pedal. I also tried to jump the soliniod just to make sure it wasn't bad and had no change. Does anyone have any advise.

First thing is check all your cables. Pull on them. They may look good but can be a bad connection. Does the reverse buzzer work?

The buzzer does work and all cables are tight and good.

I see no one else has responded so I'll try to give you some things to check. You should have a pie shape box under the driver seat between the batteries. With key off raise the seat and push the go pedal, listen for a click of the micro switch. If you hear it open the cover of it and see it the contacts are making contact with the wiper arm as you press the pedal.

It does move and is making contact. The micro switch does make and break.

more than likely your controller is bad

Quote:
You can bypass the controller for testing only.

Jack the rear tires off the ground and put the cart on jack stands.
turn cart on , press gas pedal down
Jump B- and M- at the controller to bypass the controller.
Make the final connection away from the controller(connect 2 jumper wires to controller and touch them together )
it's going to run at wide open throttle. so just do a quick touch
If it runs with the jumper I'd say the controller is bad.
Don't let the cart run at full speed with the rear tires off the ground..

Make sure the F&R switch is not melted. Look carefully around where the orange and blue wires are bolted to the swivels on the back of the switch and make sure the plastic hasn't overheated and melted. This is very common and will keep the car from running. Pull the switch off of the vehicle if you have to do so to get a better look.

Check for voltage coming into the controller........ Set your multimeter on DC 200 Volts....... Red lead on B+ Post of controller, Black lead on B- Post of the controller. Depress the accelerator and make the solenoid click. You should see full battery voltage on your meter. This confirms that there is input voltage.

Check throttle signal... Unplug the small blade terminals from the controller pins 2 and 3. The wires should be yellow and green. Insert the probes of your multimeter into the ends of these wires and set the meter to 20K ohms. You should get a reading of approximately 5000 ohms at zero throttle and 0 ohms at wide open throttle. This will confirm that the throttle signal is making it to the controller. At this point, I would replace the controller.

If you confirmed that the F&R switch is good and pass both of these tests, it will prove that you have voltage coming into the controller and throttle signal coming into the controller. You've already jumped the motor out with a battery and proven that it is not the problem.
